These ‘agents’ are spewing a statute to try and intimidate citizens. 18 U.S.C. § 111 does not apply to citizens who are merely filming federal agents, even if the filming documents alleged criminal activity—as long as the citizen does not forcibly interfere with the agents’ duties.

I've noticed that ICE agents keep yelling "18 USC § 111" at people filming them. I'd like to see the memo they all got on that talking point, and I'd like to know who sent it. Filming ICE or alerting your neighbors to their presence doesn't violate § 111.

It is odd in that 18 USC § 111 says there is a 'fine and imprisonment not more than 8 years' and it doesn't say anything about an immediate death penalty sentence. But just the act of filming is protected action in the 1st Amendment.
