I made this one for part of a gift for a friend who was leaving work. I struggled with the sizing a little, since I was not using the same yarn as the pattern, but just had to keep testing it until I felt it was right. It was a fairly simple pattern to follow. Link to free pattern

This was a really big project! I originally got the idea when scrolling through facebook. There was a picture of an oval shaped road, flat mat. I thought about it quite frequently and eventually decided to give it a go for my childcare centre. I didn't think a flat mat would work well though, and it would move as the children drove their cars around, so I designed one to fit a circular table, and reduced the edges to make it more like a table cloth.

When I first started out with crochet, some of my early projects were blankets. My first, while not the best quality because it was the cheaper yarn, was given to my daughter. Then I made a better quality blanket for my grandmother. My son saw these blankets and obviously decided he needed one too. He picked out the colours himself and it was a challenge for me to work with them because I couldn't picture them working well together, but we got there in the end and he was pretty happy with it. This little sunflower was just a test to see how small I could make the sunflower following pattern ideas based on the coasters and scrunchies I had been making. It didn't exactly turn out the way I was hoping, but it was a fun little experiment.

These scrunchies were another facebook find and I was absolutely curious to give it a go. Unfortunately, while I did save the website with the pattern, it has since become unavailable. However, if you google 'sunflower scrunchies' there are a range other other sites and youtube videos with similar designs. I found this pattern to be fairly easy to follow. Brown single crochets around a hair tie and then the yellow petals are made in two rounds.

After seeing many facebook posts with bag ideas I had to eventually give it a go. This was my first time exploring bags other than the pouch I made for the finger puppets. I did some research first and realised that the acrylic yarn I usually use would stretch and it was better to use cotton. My world of yarn started expanding and I realised how many different sorts there are!
