Cookie Quest - Gator Days Transcript Panel 1 Dan is playing video games when Ember, his little sister, interrupts him with a very important quest. Ember: BIGGER BRUDDER! I HAVE A QUEST FOR YOU! GET ME THREE COOKIES! Dan decides to go along with this. Panel 2 In the kitchen, Dan has reached the dizzying heights of the top of the refrigerator and has returned with the fabled cookie jar. The cookie jar is labelled as "COOKIE JAIL" as it is the place where naughty cookies await their ultimate fate. Ember: YOUR REWARD IS HALF A COOKIE! Dan: Or... I could take all of them. Panel 3 Ember is momentarily stunned by this sudden betrayal from her own brother. She begins to contemplate how she might turn this situation around while maximizing the number of cookies she will have for herself. Dan has already determined how this is going to go. Panel 4 Ember has a new proposal. Ember: YOUR REWARD IS A WHOLE COOKIE! Dan: I'll take three too. Ember: FINE!

FROM NOW UNTIL FEBRUARY 13TH IGN CREATORS GUILD IS GOING TO... DO OUR JOB! OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS, IGN MANAGEMENT HAS GOTTEN AWAY WITH LAYING OFF OUR COWORKERS OVER AND OVER. MEANWHILE, MANY OF OUR COLLEAGUES HAVE LEFT THE COMPANY IN NO SMALL PART DUE TO BUYOUTS, OVERWORK, AND FEELING UNSUPPORTED, EACH TIME, THE COMPANY HAS REFUSED TO BACKFILL MANY ESSENTIAL ROLES, CLAIMING WE'RE ON A HIRING FREEZE, IT'S NOT IN THE BUDGET, OR THAT WE'RE GOING TO DO LESS WORK THIS TIME. AS A RESULT, IGNCG MEMBERS HAVE BEEN FORCED TO TAKE ON MORE OF THEIR FORMER COLLEAGUES' WORKLOADS. MANY OF US NOW WORK LONGER HOURS THAN WE USED TO. A LOT OF US RARELY TAKE LUNCH BREAKS. SOME OF US DO NOT TAKE ADEQUATE TIME OFF DUE TO THERE BEING NO ONE TO PICK UP THE SLACK. OTHERS OF US ARE STUCK DOING WORK WE WERE NEVER HIRED TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE. UP TO THIS POINT, WE'VE ALL ACCEPTED THIS AS NORMAL, BECAUSE WE CARE DEEPLY ABOUT IGN AND THE WORK WE DO. BUT WITH SO MANY OF US STRUGGLING MORE AND MORE AS EACH NEW WAVE OF OUR COWORKERS ARE DEPRIVED OF A LIVELIHOOD, THIS CYCLE CAN'T CONTINUE. MANAGEMENT IS UNWILLING TO STOP IT, SO IT FALLS TO US. WITH THE LAYOFFS OF EIGHT OF OUR COWORKERS, IGNCG HAS NEGOTIATED A SIX-MONTH RECALL LIST. WHAT THAT MEANS IS THAT, FOR THE NEXT SIX MONTHS, IF IGN WANTS TO FILL ANY OF THOSE ELIMINATED ROLES AGAIN, THEY MUST REHIRE OUR LAID-OFF COLLEAGUES. WE WANT THEM TO HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET THEIR JOBS BACK IF THEY WANT THEM, AND IF NOT, WE WANT THOSE ROLES BACKFILLED TO EASE THE BURDEN ON THE REST OF US. SO STARTING TODAY, LENCE MEMBERS ARE COMMITTING TO DO OUR JOBS. NO MORE, NO LESS. WELL SHOW UP TO WORK ON TIME AND LEAVE ON TIME. WE'RE TAKING ALL OF OUR LUNCH TIME, EVERY DAY. IF WE WORK LATE, WE WILL FIRMLY ASK FOR OUR RIGHTFULLY EARNED COMP TIME. Gustopher Goes Missing (Part 3/3) - Gator Days
Panel 1 Gustopher had gone missing and August is starting to panic. He just tried called Gustopher's phone but there was no answer. Gustopher is now standing right behind him. August (Thinking): I need to ask the store to make a missing child announcement. Panel 2 Gustopher speaks, surprising August. Gustopher: Something wrong? August: THERE YOU ARE! Where were you? Panel 3 Gustopher points to where he was. He was just shuffled around a little in the crowd. He possibly also stepped through a wormhole where he was taken to a great multitude of dimensions and worlds where the flow of time is different. Don't worry about it. August reaches down towards Gustopher. Gustopher: Just over there. I got turned around in the crowd. Panel 4 August sweeps Gustopher up into a tight hug. His face is filled with emotional. His worry is dissipating he's glad his son is safe. Gustopher: Dad, I was only gone for a minute. August: A lot can happen in a minute.
