A man paddling a red canoe in blue water. Either the canoe is absurdly large, or the man is absurdly small. Or is it something else? Evelyn calculates that it’s not just a matter of forced perspective. Something…is going on. How the man sits way in the back and how the canoe elongates outward. Almost as if the back and front of the canoe were in different spatial or temporal realities. Could he be paddling through a portal of some kind, a Zuvuya? Evelyn can almost imagine a rippling effect radiating from the center of the canoe. In her notes, Evelyn jots down “astral plane.” She jots down “inter dimensional rift.” She jots down “river of time.”
