This is the internet in a nutshell. Most people don’t like chaos and the people who think they do don’t generally know what they’re talking about. Lots of change is chaos
Balaji's labels his opponents as "base-raters." This is supposed to be an insult -- base-raters think that society tends to be pretty stable, and radical changes tend to be rare.

I call this kind of thinking “freshman philosophy seminar”. It’s interesting but we live in the real world. Models designed for the sake of discussion don’t really help us build a better world or lead to a productive anything.
That’s all perfectly fine. I’m not complaining. I like Bluesky. It’s my favorite. I’m more imagining a perfect model for the sake of discussion

The committee was lucky the 12-team CFP was already coming when it left out FSU.
