At Salt Lake City, we met with President Dallin H. Oaks, whom I got to know since 2012, as he is named as the 18th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I extended our condolences on the loss of President Nelson and congratulated President Oaks on his new calling.

The #midwife in this clinic is an amazing woman from Shumar tribe in Deir Alzour who is trained to use the Ultrasound and is very happy to talk about the impact of her care on the lives of women and babies in the city of Albab in northern #Aleppo.

Finally, our Resiliecy Medical Mission arrived into Gaza today after a heroic effort by @medglobalorg Palestineteam.

• A Ministry of Health convoy with 15 ambulances and 10 doctors failed to reach Suwayda.
• Dar’a hospitals are nearing full capacity, with critical cases diverted to Damascus’s Al-Mujtahid Hospital
• An imminent collapse of health services if access is not restored within 48 hours.

- Suwayda main general hospital is out of service due to shortage of fuel, water, electricity, medical and surgical supplies, and destruction after bombing.

- The total number of confirmed casualties is less the actual number due to inability to reach all area, but at least 300-620 were killed in Suwayda, excluding hundreds who were killed among the Syrian army, security, and allied units.

- Dr. Marwan Al-Sultan joined 1582 Palestinian healthcare workers who were killed in the past 22 months in Gaza- an average of more 5 healthcare workers every two days.

My deep condolences for the loss of Pope Francis. He was a beautiful human being and a great leader for justice, peace, and helping the most marginalized.
I remember when he traveled to Lesbos Island in Greece, at the peak of the refugee crisis in 2016, to show solidarity with the Syrian refugees

Our seventh medical mission is in Gaza to support @medglobalorg Emergency Response Team. So far medglobal Palestine deployed 33 doctors and nurses from the U.S. to Gaza since the current war started as part as of the @who EMT initiative.
