Dramatics have nothing to do with this. I can tell this topic is deeply important to you and it makes my day worse to make other people’s day worse.

I’ve gotta be honest with ya, this is gonna weigh on me.

Oh man. I am very sorry I insulted someone so close to you. I’m also very sorry I distracted so deeply from your day to make you feel the need to correct me on this very very grievous error. Seriously, how can I make this up to you?

When you don’t have an actual moral backbone and shift what you think is right to conform to the ever rightward sliding Overton window, you’ll get caught saying out loud that a fifteen year old is fine to sleep with because that’s what the party has to defend today.

And she’ll prolly get it. If Fox doesn’t pick her up, I’m sure Shapiro or one of the “indie” troglodytes will.

Because conservative talking heads have to be very special to have real staying power. 1% stick around while the rest drop like flies because being hard right is terrible.

Her mom is a lawyer with a failed political bid in the exact same direction plus some antivax splashed in for garnish.

Really, ever since Rittenhouse gunned down innocent people and hit the conservative pop culture, I’ve been seeing folks deliberately be loudly horrible to jumpstart a career.

And, again, there weren’t enough words, it wasn’t even remotely compliant with the assignment and didn’t have a single citation. She’s not a middle schooler. She knows how to write a paper. She very clearly wants to be a pundit for the right.

And this is making news when it shouldn’t because she’s claiming it’s religious persecution and the religious right would collectively yank a few teeth out of their heads if it meant they could actually back it up when they say Christian’s are the most persecuted religion on earth.

And our economy is so deeply tied to this stupid bubble, I’m trapped in a fun purgatory of both wanting the AI bullshit to just get the fuck out while also being terrified of how hard life is going to get once it actually does.

Weeeeeeee….

When Google introduced its AI summary and it was primarily scraping Reddit so you’d see things like “glue will make your pizza cheese stretchier” because it pulled from a sarcastic comment without understanding sarcasm is even a thing, that was the sign this is a baaaaad idea.

And just like that slacker sitcom lead learning once a week that honesty and responsibility are pretty much the only low bar his loved once’s ask of him and forgetting by next week, we keep seeing people put a very important thing in the hands of AI and then get fucked over for it. We had hints, too
December 7, 2025 at 10:40 AM
Once a week it’s something like “well our tour was AI driven and it couldn’t understand that the rain made the path muddy so we got stuck” or

“It drafted a menu, but it was incapable of removing allergens like shellfish and nuts. Thank god the chef caught it before we opened.”

The same lesson.

FF12 was a good game. In many ways it was the first "modern" FF game while also being one of the last ones with the classic earmarks of an older game. I absolutely love a lot of it but there's also a lot of it that I really don't like.

The system is the enemy's name is either blue for a lower level, yellow for equal level or red for higher level. This sounds on its face helpful until you realize an enemy with a two level advantage on you has the same marker as a foe thirty levels above.
December 4, 2025 at 3:19 PM
A good chunk of them, however, do not give such a warning. Instead the entire vibe is just normal. The only indication you might get before getting your ass kicked is the name of a monster you're manually targeting, but even that might not be enough given how simple the system is.

By around the third or fourth one, you the player might feel deeply discouraged from trying out the new area. You might see the new region, roll your eyes and turn the other way.

And credit where its due, there are a couple areas where a cutscene plays going "Uh... we're not ready."
December 4, 2025 at 3:19 PM
Every secret area in FF12 seem to unlock well before you're ready to venture in there. The experience is always finding a new area, getting about fifteen steps in, running into a reskinned version of an enemy you've encountered here before and getting spanked like the child of an abusive parent.
December 4, 2025 at 3:19 PM
FF12 has a TON of extra areas you can just wander into. Nearly all of them are worth the trip, too. You can get special items, more bosses, solid loot or even an entire goddamned summon (all but one summon is optional).

But you're never properly leveled when you first get there.

I get a lot of folks are disappointed the King of Hell is unable to lay a finger on the bulk of people who are going to be our antagonists. It feels like we have this Omega Weapon just collecting dust in our garage. But I'm more interested in the character than the powers in Lucifer, yanno?
December 3, 2025 at 4:52 AM
Because this is HER story. She is a very proud young woman who is under the impression that she can brute force her way through conflicts by acting like a Disney princess. Her arc is, in some way or form, learning to get past herself.
December 3, 2025 at 4:52 AM
I want you to imagine an alternate story where Lucifer swings down saying he's the Serpent and the Flame and then he just obliterates Vox. How is that entertaining? What would the conflict be after that? Val? Velvette? He'd likely smite them as well, right?

So what would Charlie do?
December 3, 2025 at 4:52 AM
At present, at this moment in time, Lucifer is probably one of the closest things we see to a capital G God in this setting. This is amazing and we will absolutely get a moment where he's gonna lay down the hammer on someone or something. Just not sinners.

Because Charlie has to solve her problems
