I started weight training after listening to Chris Hayes’ WITH podcast episode with Casey Johnston. She has a good e-book/program called “LIFTOFF: Couch to Barbell” that I used. It hits the basic concepts that you should know: compound lifts, weights going up, protein intake. www.couchtobarbell.com

Have you read “A Cruel and Shocking Act”? It’s a very good account of the investigators for the Warren commission, and basically comes to that conclusion (as much as it has one). Also suggests that the CIA didn’t want to find the truth since it might result in nuclear war and wasn’t worth it.

Yeah, I’m wondering if he teased a sixth book? I started reading this thing more than 20 years ago and I’m still waiting to finish.

The entire concept of a drinking problem confused me. I knew my parents drank liquids, but was reasonably sure they hadn’t crossed any lines yet. I didn’t know when too much liquid started being a problem, or how they would loose control.

I mean, I live in the Ozarks, so I know what kind of place “Asbestos County, Ohio” refers to.

You should delete this one, it makes you sound like a huge asshole.

This is why Democrats need to get a big percent of MAGA to just stop voting Republican, not convert them to Democrats, which will never happen.

That would be a hell of a cattle drive. Make a great movie.

It’s the same paper that wrote the fluff piece on Hitler in 1939. I always thought that was a different era of the Times, but it really hasn’t changed at all.

This is the same newspaper who published shit like this in 1939:

I saw this as a kid when it first aired! It stuck with me and I’ve always remembered “A penny saved is a waste of time.”

I’ve wondered if having a penny heads up or down would affect his experiment, but at that point it’s just superstition and still an indictment of the coin.

Trump and Republicans have killed hypocrisy as a political weapon. Like, dead. All the way. They blew right through it.

The only thing Sacramento suffers from is unfair comparisons to coastal cities. It’s objectively a very nice city with a river and interesting history. And right on the footsteps of the Sierras!

Did you ever fly Midwest Airlines? Every seat was roomy, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and complementary wine on every flight. www.jsonline.com/picture-gall...

I’ve only seen Heat once, but I’m the same. The scene with Pacino clasping hands with a dying De Niro when De Niro’s character was responsible for his partner being killed, just made no sense.

I think the music industry has changed so much in the past 15 years that it’s a very hard question. I don’t even know what popular music means anymore, outside of like maybe 10-15 super big artists. It’s fragmented into a thousand niches.

Just got back from the protest in Springfield, Mo. in deep red Southwest Missouri. It was big turnout surrounding a busy intersection, with a huge number of cars honking and giving thumbs up as they passed. I liked that occasional MAGA folks giving us the finger were outnumbered right then.
