If somebody told you I was just your average ordinary guy, not a care in the world... somebody lied. He/him
Also, what do you mean “not establishment”? Dude’s actual dad was governor of New York. He is part of NY political elite by birth.

Oh, okay, I guess he was not endorsed by the Clintons, Schumer, Jeffries, et al during the primary. The Clintons at minimum joined with Trump and Miller to keep that going in the general, and most of the others didn’t say a word.

Okay, if Cuomo hadn't run, what do you imagine that number would be? Because there was three parties here: Republicans, Establishment Dems, and New Dems. One of those one pretty clearly.

Like to also note her positions on trans rights was “nothing federal, kick it to the states” like a Civil Rights era Republican and for immigration she supported the “bipartisan bill” penned by a Republican that certainly moved immigration to the right. She very obviously pivoted right. It failed.

Fascinating

This is an ad using the image of an incredibly popular politician who is polling so far ahead his victory is essentially guaranteed, though the party leadership is actually against what he actually represents and will keep fighting it. But they'll sure as hell capitalize on his popularity.
November 4, 2025 at 10:29 PM
The Dem leadership now has pretty clearly dropped "blue no matter who" anyone. "Vote blue if they're relatively friendly to billionaires and the status quo, don't ask to much, and can look the other way on war criminals."

I mean Kamala was campaigning to the moderate right and Cheney and Kamala both supported mass killing of Muslims so I guess that tracks.

Have also done this.

He thinks about Mamdani, and he’s scared shitless

Paul F Tompkins reposting & he played one of the people Phil Pharma talked to on the phone.

More toward your point: The Democratic party transforming into something better is not only good for the party, it's *critical* to stopping what I agree is a rise in fascism.

This meager, corporate, status quo, Clintonist iteration of the party?

It will *never* defeat them. We need new leaders.

The only time I saw Harris talk about trans issues all campaign was her saying "we'll just leave it up to the states," knowing full goddamn well a lot of states would be draconian about trans rights.
October 28, 2025 at 7:32 PM
To me, the absolute reluctance with which Schumer and Jeffries were willing to engage at all with Mamdani as someone who is *clearly* gonna win in favor of a guy who's got so many scandals he should be in prison was just undeniable proof this party needs an enema to continue to survive.
October 28, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Exactly. The whole game plan last election was "maybe we can win transphobes and racists by being kinda shitty instead of totally shitty." Doesn't work. If you're a bigot you're not gonna dive into "moderated bigotry." If you aren't a bigot, hey, also not gonna love "moderated bigotry"!
October 28, 2025 at 7:24 PM
No, you misunderstand.

1) Republicans are worse

2) Top Democrats are engaging in a corporate friendly cowardly diet Republican strategy that is failing so terribly they are at historically record low approval even among registered Democrats.

This strategy *will* and *has* failed.
October 28, 2025 at 7:18 PM
Republicans are clearly worse, but Dems having a "we let you keep your scraps, they will take them away" message is shit. Kamala wanted to go right on immigration, give up on federal trans rights, back Israel all the way. She lost

Zohran ran on something and leading Dems fucking hate the guy for it

It does, coming from the "hand in cap," though another criticism I've seen of "handicap" it is strikingly similar to "cap in hand," which can give the perception of people with disabilities as beggers.

I could keep going, but the fact is she was a willing mouthpiece for a Zionist president who bypassed congress multiple times to give Israel weapons to kill people. Trump's worse, sure, but she sold her soul on this.
