As a future psychotherapist, I plan to approach mental health holistically. I will acknowledge how nutrition impacts mood, energy, and healing. I’ll hold space to discuss food relationship and collaborate with other health professionals when needed. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

To hear Tom’s story about his feelings brings into perspective how emotional weight management is. It’s never just about weight, there’s a lot of things at play when someone is on their journey. Medical professionals have to keep this mind when working with clients @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

This advice can 100% aid in reducing the barriers to healthy eating. Young adults are constantly running around with no time to find a nutritious meal on the go, it would be much easier to do this instead! 🚫 temptation. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

A barrier I face most often is the unhealthy diet of friends and family. Living in a household of people whose main goal isn’t to manage their intake is a struggle. It’s hard to turn down fast food when the majority wants it, it makes things hard! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I recommend the USDA’s MyPlate Plan website. It is tailored to your individual needs based on age, sex, weight, height, and physical activity. Nutrition is not a one-size-fits-all thing, so it’s important to tailor it to YOUR needs. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I noticed that all of these are things that you can consume while in a Paleo diet.. Makes me wonder if that diet is linked to reducing anxiety as well… @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I looked into what the Paleo diet was. I wonder how sustainable this diet is in modern times. The foods that it consists of are typically crazy expensive and it’s hard to come by foods that aren’t processed. Plus, isn’t dairy/grains included in the nutrition plate? @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I tried the 24-hour food recall challenge found that it’s a lot harder to track when your way of creating food is “handful of this” and “splash of that”. not very accurate but I was surprised to see how much i would reach for the same ingredients in different dishes @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Fats are super essential because they’re responsible for the nerve cell sheath (myelin) and maintaining body temperature. Keeps you and your cells toasty! (a lot more science behind it, but you get it) @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

This is super interesting, especially after my Biology of Cancer class today where we spoke about mutations leading to cancer. I wonder if plant-based diets lower the risks because of its nutrients and how the immune system needs them to continue to fight infections. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

It’s important to see if the study is promoting specific products or diets for a secret profit later. Also, take a look at the results from the study, check if it’s truly randomized or if they grouped people to try a similar product to be a miracle drug @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
