James Paterson, who painted posters for Last Night in SoHo and The Killer, was kind enough to hand paint our poster for XY. He’s shipping it to us from London as we speak! Quite literally the opposite of AI. And so worth it.

Filmed on Alexa35 using Cooke s2 anamorphics. Very old glass. I wanted to capture the loneliness and paradox of the toxic masculinity vs heroism of the American Western. Almost no VFX. But this is one. We erased traffic and took the state off the plate to make the world empty. XY. Coming next year.

Here’s a photo of the package. I left at 9:47. Package supposedly came at 12:41. What’s interesting is the ring camera also didn’t record me coming home or going out that night. But it’s recording today. So weird. Like it was shut off for a time.
