I think for the first time in history we’re seeing popular social media turn on its assumed promise of democratized dialog for the masses and become what it’s always been. Big business. We’ve been long played. Rope-a-doped. It was a 20 year believe the lie campaign. Horrifying.

I got the usual “as long as you don’t shove it in my face” argument about trans rights on IG today. I really hate that gaslighting bullshit stance. I really do. Of course it was followed up with “as long as they’re not in my sports” etc etc. ugh.

What’s interesting and has me wondering. When we learned about the atrocities of Hitlers Germany in school, it was assumed everyone hated him and the time. Now I’m wondering just how many people fell on board at that time? And acknowledging just how brave the people were that continued to resist.
