The former football blog primarily on the NFL Draft from 2014-17. Still trying to keep up with and get better at understanding the game, but not writing so much anymore. Manned by @captainnath.bsky.social.
haha, wow, I didn't even notice the link didn't post correctly. I hit the "copy link" button on their website! that should tell you something.

this, instead, is the actual correct link.

if the computer in your mock is proposing trades like this to the human, something has gone very wrong.

I managed to turn what the Saints started with into 17 picks this year and *45* extra picks the next.

hahaha

if that was his point then why does he agree with the McDermott firing? I think you're reading what you want to read into it.

James Cook 3 times and Dawson Knox once lol. And they immediately used a first-round pick on a tight end after Knox made it, so should he even count?

Perfect roster?? Like what, the elite Tyrell Shavers? Broken-down edge rushers? What are you talking about?

Again, my stance is this: if you fire McDermott you fire Beane too, because he’s done a pretty awful job of building this roster

The other thing is, it's not a fluky Cinderella story - first FBS team to go 16-0, and they had to beat CFP #2, #5 (twice), #9, #10, and #23. they completely blew out two of those games, blew out 9-4 Illinois, and blew out almost everyone else on their schedule.

That is a hell of a resumé.

Like it'll either be a Nagy / McCarthy or a Scheelhaase / Udzinski

Yeah I don't know who would even want that job or what the appeal would be. I feel like it's gonna be someone desperate for any head coaching job, whether that's a retread on his last chance or a really young guy who isn't getting other offers and probably isn't ready but is willing to roll the dice
January 20, 2026 at 5:19 AM
Yeah, and even a lot of the guys on this team were guys he developed at James Madison and brought with him - so not necessarily guys other schools ever wanted or could've gotten. That's an important part of the Cig secret sauce, I think - not just developing them but that they want to stick with him

Lol, damn. But it's not fair to Wisconsin! They should be able to win on their tradition of white farm boy OL and the running backs who line up behind them
January 20, 2026 at 5:06 AM
Weird then that a bunch of teams that spent even more money and have even more prestige and tradition didn't win then. But I get it, you're sore because you realize this could've been your school if they'd taken a chance on Cignetti and given him the right support instead of doing things the old way
