To those wondering, this is what now appears if you use Bluesky in Mississippi without a VPN. So yes, a VPN does grant access to the site. For now.

Between this and what’s happening in DC… this is insane. Absolutely insane. America is falling.
This is the right response to the Mississippi law from Bluesky.

"Age verification" laws are nothing more than a massive expansion of government surveillance and censorship. They make kids less safe, not more safe.

Get a VPN and call your lawmakers. Time to fight.

Bluesky Goes Dark in Mississippi Over Age Verification Law

Breonna Taylor should still be here today. Her life mattered.

Trump’s DOJ has asked that an officer charged in her murder spend just one day in jail. One day. This is atrocious—it is what injustice and systemic racism looks like.

In November, a federal jury found officer Brett Hankison guilty of violating Taylor’s civil rights during a March 2020 police raid in which she was fatally shot.

Yes yes YES
If someone gets cited for driving >100mph, why *wouldn't* you want tech to prevent them from doing it again?

That's the logic behind this new batch of state bills about Intelligent Speed Assist. It makes total sense.
Some good news in transportation policy (for a change):

From Virginia to California, states are ready to use Intelligent Speed Assist to prevent habitually reckless drivers from super-speeding.

Both Rs and Ds are supportive.

🤯 So yes: the Bigfoot myth, and others like it, could very plausibly be a distorted cultural memory of Neanderthals or similar archaic humans, passed down for tens of thousands of years. That idea is still debated, but it has real academic traction.
