Page 18/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ As the flash back texture has disappeared, in the present we see the girl remembering to look for something in her purse (especially rough drawings again bc of time restraints), and then whipping out a jar full of flowers. They appear to be a type of small lilies with different patterns on some of the leaves. As the girl smiles and offers the jar of flowers to the main character, they look at her in amazement, slightly distorted pupil to show the movement in their emotions, and reach for their facemask. Page 19/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ This full page panel shows a headshot of the main character with their facemask pulled down and hair swept to the side, revealing the scarred right half of their face again; except this time they show a gentle, half dimpled smile and fond expression despite the gnarliness of their look. Their face is framed by the silhouette of tree leaves in the top corners along with decorative light spheres in the background, and their scarred right hand holding the jar of flowers close to their face overlaps the panels borders. Page 20/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ This last page shows the light silhouettes of the 2 characters facing eachother in front of a background of dappled light, overlapped by a closeup shot of the profiles of their faces from the left side, smiling at eachother. A shrub sprouting the same flowers as in the jar overlaps the bottom of the page with a panel in the middle marking the end of the comic. (this isn’t visible anywhere, but the flowers are a South-American lilly variety called ‘Alstroemeria'; and are the same flowers the main character was fiddling with on page 3 in the courtyard when the girl is first introduced - except they dont actually grow as singular flowers on shrubs tho i made that up lol)

Page 13/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ The top half of the page shows 4 panels next to eachother, First, a small rendition of the smiling girl in front of the bright lights from the last page, and next to it the eye of the main character looking pensive but soft. The next panel shows another small rendition of the page 9 silhouette of themselves holding the shears, and the panel after it shows their expression morphed into a hardened, pained look in their eye, even with less visible highlights. The bottom half of the page divided by a thick black border shows a wide shot of the landscaping business again, with the silhouette of a head in the bottom right corner. The next panel has the girl in a different outfit than before, slamming the door open with a serious expression. (Now this is clearly where I had run out of time for inking, so the next panel and page are basically blank panels! but because I had also, once again forgotten to delete the lowered opacity draft layer, a barely visible hint of the messy storyboard can be seen underneath. So if you squint; the last, empty panel appears to have a character with a facemask look alarmed in it…) Page 14/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ (Again, this page was not inked because of time constraints and is basically a page of empty panels! Kinda embarassing actually BUT if you squint, the barely visible storyboard underneath shows a vague stick figure sequence of the girl grabbing the main character, leading them outside of the store and around the corner under the privacy of a big tree, and showing them a spread in their notebook that seems to shock the main character.) Page 15 and 16 (double-spread) / 20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ This 2-page spread shows the inside of the girls notebook she's showing the main character, in which there are multiple crude cartoon style drawings of a character with what seems spikey hair, a sword and armor covering half of their body, as the other half is covered in some kind of rectangular patterns that could be runes or scars. The pages are littered with different angles of the half-body markings, doodles and notes with arrows on details for the design. The bottom panels here show the shocked eye of the main character looking at the notebook, while the top part of their hand is shown gently touching the part of their facemask and hair that covers the scarred parts of their face. Next to it the girl holds up her finger as to explain something and the next panel has a textured background to indicate a different scene, as it shows a flashback of her in her other outfit the other day looking scared. Page 17/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ The texture in the background for this page resembles the flash back in the previous panel, and the top panel shows the enlarged eyes of the girl looking at the main character in the alley the other night, but the highlighted figures reflected in each of her pupils look slightly different. The bottom 2 panels show next to each other: on the right a direct image of the way the main character looked holding the shears in the alley. And on the left again but with their silhouette barely visible, covered instead by a vision of the girls half marked cartoon character in the same pose, smiling down at her heroically holding their sword.

Page 9/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ This page consists of only 2 images. A top panel revealing the main characters face viewed from the bottom right where it was always covered: the side right side of their face is entirely covered in scars, warping some of their features like the side of the eye and the ear. The scarring pulling at the edges of the mouth make it seem as if they are grinning, adding to an intimidating look. Breaking the panel walls are the the ends of the shears they are holding in the top left and the face mask dangling from their ear in the bottom right. The full page panel that the top panel is set in shows a frontal view of the main characters top half, backlit so that their dark silhouette melds with the walls of the alley on both sides, all of which are dark toned with a darkening gradient towards the bottom and contain a snake coiling texture. Their long unruly hair spikes away from their face, and the eyes of the character are the only brightened features in the silhouette, drawing emphasis to their asymmetrical menacing gaze. The shears they've swung onto their shoulder have slightly opened up, causing the pointy tips to stick out from behind the characters silhouette, and if not for the crooked angle, almost look like a devils horns sticking out of their head. Page 10/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ The man looks afraid of the intimidating figure before him, and when the main character reaches out, he stumbles and falls back. The main character however, reached past him to grab the girls wrist and drag her away out of the alley. The second to last panel shows the girl looking up at the main character as they run away, with a look of awe and intrigue. A glimpse of the bottom half of the main characters uncovered face, shows their lips tightly pursed in an upset expression. Finally, an overhead shot shows 2 small forms representing the characters reaching the end of an alley leading into a busy, bright lit shopping street. (sidenote: once again, the damn draft scribbles in the bg of the page here) Page 11/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ The still bruised hand of the main character releases the pearl bracelet adorned wrist of the girl. The next panel shows the girls hand reaching after them as they move away. A zoomed out panel shows the girl still standing with a stretched out hand as the main character has already turned away from the light, and her, to pull their face mask back up and start to leave. There’s a closeup shot of the tree logo on the work shirt they had fastened around their waist waving behind them as they leave, and another closeup of the girls eye noticing it. Page 12/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ Like page 9 this page also consists of a full shot of the girl standing at the alleys end, with a top panel depicting a detail of her face below a glimpse of the starry sky. The top panel shows her eyes looking over the rim of her glasses. The close-up shows more graphic style details, like highlights and sparkles, in her eyes. The bottom full frontal scene of her from the knees up, also offsets her silhouette from the starry sky and brightly lit, bustling street behind her. She stands relaxed, holding her bag and notebooks, her head slightly tilted as she looks back into the alleyway with a small smile and fond expression.

Page 5/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ Now nighttime, the main character is done with the yard work. Their gaze happens to land on the girl leaving the building with her bag and books, turning the other way from the exit down the opposite side of the road. (sidenote: i forgot to remove the draft layer underneath the final drawings so the bleeds very lightly show all kinds of scribbles in the bg lmao - this happens a couple more times) Page 6/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ Right after the girl does, a tall figure hiding their face with a low beanie and high jacket collar, rounds the same corner as the girl as they glance around. The main character is still facing them as they start removing their work attire. They watch the girl round the street corner followed by the tall man. The main character, carrying a big pair of garden shears, watches the now empty street corner with a furrowed brow Page 7/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ The girl, noticing the tall man following her, speeds up her pace only to frantically run into a dead-end alleyway. She braces herself in fear as the man reaches towards her, when the bottom panels on the page are interrupted by the sound effect “smack! / ばしっ！”. Page 8/20 of amateur wordless one-shot manga ‘Alstroemeria’ The top panel shows the smacking sound being hand reaching out from the dark to roughly clasp the tall mans shoulder. The next panel reveals the main character, still holding the shears, gripping the shoulder of the startled man. In the bottom panels, the main character only lets go of the man to pull down the hood of their sweater and start to remove their facemask… (sidenote: another page where i accidentally left the drafts underneath the final layer, so more light scribbles in the margins...)
