Proudly Representing Austin City Council, D9. Progressive Democrat fighting for Austinites. Child of immigrants. 🇺🇸 🇵🇰 Proud Texas Ex.
Austin is better served with @doggett.house.gov and @gregcasar.bsky.social representing our community in Congress. Their leadership, commitment to working families, and dedication to equitable policy make a meaningful difference for Central Texas. Our future is stronger with their voices in DC.

I’m proud that Austin officially filed an exemption protect our rainbow crosswalks.

Studies show that they not only make our streets brighter – but safer too.

But ultimately our allyship must mean that we do more to protect people, not just paint. 🌈

“I think many would agree this isn't about painting on a street, it's about the message our cities are allowed to send," said Austin City Council Member Zo Qadri, District 9.

Hot wings, hotter questions!

Had a great time joining Texas Votes students talking and local politics and how government can work for everyone.

Grateful to join @waltermasterson.bsky.social on stage at Cap City last night.

Austin really showed up!

Always good to share space with people who care enough to laugh and listen.

Stopped by @udemstx.com tonight with pizza for their midnight voter registration drive!

Every election matters, and there's 18 items on the ballot in Austin where it's important every student’s voice is heard.

If you’re in Travis County, check your address at VoteTravis.com (www.votetravis.com).

When I first ran, I didn’t see many people who looked like me on the ballot.

Sitting alongside other AAPI leaders last night with Asian Texans for Justice reminded me why representation matters.

It's a great reminder that the movement is bigger than any one of us.

Labor Day isn’t just a day off-it's proof of what collective organizing can win. ✊

Texas will miss @doggett.house.gov steady voice and principled leadership.

It’s deeply unfair that Trump-backed gerrymandering is forcing out a public servant who’s given decades to our community.

We’re grateful for his example—and we must keep up the fight for fair maps.

Grateful to celebrate local champions for justice and equity at the Capital Area Progressive Democrats’ awards reception.

Together, we’re building a city where everyone can thrive.

Honoring the life and legacy of Council Member Bill Spelman today at City Hall.

Rest in peace to a true giant in public service.

From day one, this campaign has been about building an Austin that works for everyone.

We’ve made real progress
together — but there’s still more to do.

Grateful for everyone who believes in the road ahead.

Celebration of Life for Bill Spelman — former Austin City Council Member & longtime UT professor. This Sunday at noon, City Hall.

Elected officials shouldn’t pick their voters—voters should pick their officials.

Austin gets that. We have independent redistricting.

Texas should too.

Proud to stand with Texans fighting for fair maps and real representation.

We're lucky in Austin to have not one - but two great congressional leaders representing us in Washington.

When federal funding for our libraries, our clinics, and our flood prevention got cut - both @doggett.house.gov and @repcasar.bsky.social voiced Austin's concerns.
July 30, 2025 at 3:06 PM
Republicans already carved up Austin by race along the I-35 corridor in 2021.

Now they’re further silencing us by party — erasing a Democratic seat we’ve had for decades.

This isn’t redistricting. It's a congressional coup.

It’s time to build power.

Always a great time at the Democratic Club Happy Hour! 💙 Nothing beats spending time with friends, sharing laughs, and staying energized for the work ahead.

Greg Abbott saw 100+ Texans dead and thought: perfect time to rig the election.

Meanwhile in Austin, we demanded FEMA restore $50M in flood prevention—no gerrymandering required.

You don’t need a tragedy to lead. Just a conscience.
