I agree, this class definitely helped me feel more interested in the field of communication. I think if can feel like, or be assumed that communication is for PR/Social Media roles, but it can reach well beyond that and gives us important perspective.

I liked media multiplexity theory too. It has always felt like almost a passive thing, but knowing about this theory now, I can really see how it strengthens and shapes my relationships. It’s also intersecting how a friend deactivating an account makes me feel less connected too.

I agree, the algorithms, to me, fail in covering the vast interest of individuals. If I am about to get my hair done, I like to look up inspo pics, but then it's all I see. It feels limiting in that regard, and I can see it impacting our interests over time as well.

Inflation is prevalent in the media, especially right now with the recent government shutdown, loss of SNAP, and job and labor cut backs due to AI. What's interesting is how media shapes it, often as a political issue, but many industries and a lot of people are struggling right now.

Netflix and chill is a great example of how much Netflix has shaped out society, they also really started the cultural shift away from satellite TV, most people I know only utilize streaming services.

Definitely one of my comfort shows. It’s nice to relate to have Lorelai and Rory to relate to when it comes to the struggles of growing up and developing independence. My parents aren’t rich, but I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t want to ask for financial help from them anymore.

I think AI really cuts down on peer to peer communications. In classes where I need to put in more effort, I seldom get a response from other students to study or work on materials together (even virtually), but when I first started college (in 2014) I did it all the time.

That is understandable. I definitely have family members that it feels like talking to a brick wall when it comes to politic, especially in recent years. Sometimes it is better to just chill and enjoy the food.

I thought of this situation as well! Sometimes I laugh when someone falls or has a small accident, but then you have to quickly save face when they might actually be hurt.

I also said participation. People with ideas for improvement would probably appreciate the opportunity to be heard by their organization. When problems persist and solutions seem dismal, it may create more turn over from engaged and dedicated employees.
