This hike is really close to me so I stop here somewhat frequently to take a break and enjoy. I think this is my favorite photo I've gotten of it so far.

I like the contrasting orange and dead brown leaves in the foreground and how the far back hills stand out slightly better (b/c cloud coverage).

What a sick day today. The one and only @zoasterino.bsky.social came over to my place today to trade BOTH of my PVMs for some really valuable PS1 games, a SNES, 2 Super Famicom controllers, and an N64 Expansion Pak. Was awesome having @tylen0l.bsky.social here to hang as well!

I've been enjoying PBS digital studios educational content for years. Didn't realize they had a subscription service. For me this is the easiest sell ever, especially considering the circumstances.

In my first year of picking up hiking for my physical and mental health, I've logged at least 261 miles (420 km ... nice) and 47,052 feet (14,341 m) up and down.

My first hike was quite dangerous due to my ignorance and ambition. Now they have warning signs on that trail.

Celebrating another regressive tax adjustment by freaking out over a single young socialist screams vulnerability... that there's still a real fear of solidarity. I think 50 years of "winning" / growing wealth inequality, with no current end in sight, is understood to increase the danger.

On an individual level, I'm starting to fully believe that looking for ways to spend your energy showing love to and organizing on any and all levels w/ people you vibe with is a massively better use of time than "debating" people who will never see eye to eye with you.

I've had quite a few IGT runs that I think were better than this (typically worse phantoons and cleaner mid to late games).

But I held together a godlike phantoon fight good enough to get this :)

I will post the run's youtube link here after I get it public. Tomorrow night probably.

a few of my favorite photos and/or locations from last year

1. a productive black raspberry vine overlooks a gorge in the cumberland plateau on a hot summer day

2. fallen acorns, oak and red maple leaves on the mountain at the peak of fall
