I read this all the way to the end of the post and I can say definitively two things: 1.) People in local government love Parks and Rec.And 2.) there are too many doctor shows and movies. Make one about doctor's wives/significant-others that only stay with them to hate-spend their money -💯 accurate.

When we lived in Charlotte, we had school bus races in the summer at the race track. Principles, sheriffs, fire chiefs all did them. I never saw anyone get hurt but saw some great wrecks. I wondered if this ever happened. Of course it is a sheriff that dies though!

Thank you for the clarification. I like July because it is an early barometer in hiring, but these numbers might be a bit rosy for the year because I think the state schools that tend to recruit in the fall/winter are likely to be hard hit. But, I will be following you throughout the year.

I invite scholars from around the world to study the topic of cost and funding of election administration. I also discuss what I see as important lines of research and sources of data to get scholars who are not familiar with election administration research started on their own analyses.

This article. explain the history of the changes to elections, mostly from the perspective of the US where a decentralized federal system of elections has promoted significant variation. However, these costs mirror the variation around the world suggesting technology and vote mode are critical.
