I had a patient's family wash the pine pollen off my car as a thanks for "all the joy I spread". Then I got cussed out when calling another patient's daughter to schedule a visit.

Working in hospice is an emotional rollercoaster some days.

As heavy as hospice chaplaincy can be at times, nothing melts the heart like hearing a patient ask for more visits because they "really enjoy having someone to talk to".
