Game Designer with three published games and like 800 others I dabble in. He/Him
🎲✂️
IYO, which of these three would be the most striking when seen on a box in the game store?

🎲✂️ Something I'm trying with the Pact rulebook is providing in-universe comments attached to the dryer, more clinical wargame rules, both as a contextual clue as to what this part of the system represents as well as a strategic hint for players.

🎲✂️ idea, a highly detailed two-player aerial dog fighting game similar to blue max, but you're actually two seagulls fighting over a bag of french fries

I got to set pact up at spiel, but having it at spellenspektakl was amazing. At this point I can confirm that the graphic design and layout is attracting people that will enjoy the game for what it is.

Outside the Utrecht train station and amid the pile of pop up tents selling Oliebollen and other greasy Christmas treats was a American Corndog seller.

I am skeptical but will try for scientific purposes.

This was $7 btw

Prepping for the PACT kickstarter, and all the effort to give this 🎲✂️ prototype a glow-up has really been paying off!

And that's a wrap on SPIEL!
More analysis to come later, but Wulfhorn games got some good press and good reactions from everyone. Expect to hear more cool things next year, either through us or our partners!

Going through the German train system with a heavy duffel bag of games is certainly a fun experience

Let's go Spiel!

If you had told me 5 years ago that there was an Essen booth with not one but two of my games, I would not have believed you

I did my best to pepper in a little bit of lore through the naming of all of my stuff. Event card titles, faction names, and so on.

The most detailed I got was on each of the player boards, where I have short blurbs to get each player invested in their characters motivation and situation.
October 21, 2025 at 6:05 AM
Like maybe there's a player that wants to know the four paragraphs of motivations for this big guy I wrote while on the train, but in-game he's a courtier to control and that's all they need to know.

Follow the rest of the instructions to cut out your stickers

(ignore the background wailings of my son, he was told that waking up at 5am and demanding cartoons was not going to get him cartoons)

✨ VERY IMPORTANT ✨
You will see a material option in step 2 called "sticker paper" and think that's the best option, but it isn't
Instead use Washi Tape and the 'Less' pressure setting, which causes the cricut to cut through the top layer but leave the backing intact

Load your paper and print onto your label sheet. You may need to repeat this if like me you often forget which way to orient the paper in the printer.
October 20, 2025 at 5:41 AM
Now hit "Make" in the upper right hand corner. You'll see a laid-out version of your sticker sheet. Make sure to select the correct paper size on the left bar options
October 20, 2025 at 5:41 AM
Once it's uploaded into the current canvas, set its height and width (I measure the longest length of my piece-to-sticker and subtract 1mm) and copy/paste as many as you want to print/cut. Placement doesn't matter here, the software auto-lays out everything for you.
October 20, 2025 at 5:41 AM
Step 2, open Cricut Designer and upload your image. Click through the steps to use the auto-background remover and select "Flat Graphic"
October 20, 2025 at 5:41 AM
Step 1, make images. Let's imagine you are an incredibly successful game designer about to launch her line of star-themed gin rummy meets koi koi card games, and you need stickers. First, make an image like so. Make sure there's a transparent background around your sticker image
October 20, 2025 at 5:41 AM
Okay, people want to now, how did I make a highly detailed sticker sheet for my 🎲✂️?

You need
1️⃣a pipeline to make 🖼️ with transparent backgrounds
2️⃣A Cricut Maker 3 and Cricut Design Space
3️⃣Full page label 📃 and a 🖨️

STICKERS

144 12mm stickers to cut. All I can say is thank God I figured out a good 🎲✂️ workflow for making these with some label paper and a cricut

(Full page label paper,a little bit of extra spray glue to help secure the paper, and the Washi Tape Light setting)
