Star Wars does have Andor, which is sort of the one exception in a wasteland of regurgitated stuff from the original trilogy.

If you don't replace the Supreme Court they'll just find this to be an unconstitutional restriction on free speech (and that states don't have the power to regulate this under the incorporation of the first amendment.) They're the core problem and need to be dealt with first.

If they were going to plagiarize from a tablet, couldn't they have chosen a better one, anyway?

And then God said to Abraham: You put ingots which were not good before my messenger and said: "If you want to take them, take them; if you do not want to take them, go away!"

The lady who first taught me the basics of computer science first made the entire class swear to use our powers for good and not for evil, like we were about to learn eldritch magic. It was amazing.

I liked how she spoke respectfully to the Chozo in Dread, though. It underlines that she was raised by them - my headcanon is that she is awkward around humans due to being raised by aliens (hence taking a career that is mostly solitary), but is much more outgoing with Chozo.

Why is the WSJ so much better at covering Trump than the NYT? Is it just that his tariff obsession is sufficiently insane that it threatens their money?

One thing I really liked in Strange Antiques is how, after solving a puzzle, it would highlight how you were supposed to reach the answer. This helps people who are struggling understand the game's logic without having to resort to guides.

I seriously had to double-check that this wasn't from The Hard Drive.

It's not ironic at all. Pizzagate erupted when whispers of Epstein stuff started to surround Trump during the 2016 campaign; the intent right from the start was to deflect them by accusing his ideological enemies instead.

A big part of it is IMHO Ubisoft Connect. It's just a deeply miserable experience to interact with it in any context. It's designed around shoveling microtransaction shit into the gaping maws of whales, yet they pour its rancidness over every game they produce, and it's just... awful.

Again, people wildly overestimate how low-information low-info voters are. Fuck, a depressing number of them believe Biden killed Row vs. Wade because it happened on his watch. The only thing that reaches low info voters is hard, concrete results. They don't know or care or understand the process.
November 10, 2025 at 9:50 PM
Low information votes won't even hear about that. All they're gonna hear is that the Democrats caved and Trump rolled them. (And that's, in fact, what happened! Hollow kabuki theater that nobody but us political wonks is even going to pay attention to isn't going to change that fact.)

Republicans ARE standing on conviction and Dems aren't. That's objectively what's happening. The Republican convictions are bad convictions, evil convictions, but they do hold them. Many elected Democrats have no convictions at all, they're just hollow suits who want a seat for its own sake.

Also, back then there were really major games (eg. FF5) that didn't get translated at all. Emulation was the only way to play them. Or the way Terranigma was only released in Europe.

People are saying how broken this is, but it's really just a more expensive Freed From the Real (which is, admittedly, broken.)

Young people just want fighters. That's what it comes down to. Convince them you'll fight for them and they'll turn out for you.

Worth remembering that Republicans made the entire 2022 midterms about trans kids and did historically poorly for the minority party in a midterm election, too. It's not a winning formula for them; they don't really have a working coalition when Trump isn't on the ballot.

Also refurbished laptops and phones are just... not very expensive nowadays. You can get a basic one for like $50, and even a half-decent one isn't much more. And it can last for years. It's the recurring bills that get you, the stuff like housing and cars and food.

Aside from a few really short contracts, every tech job I've ever worked on has sent me a separate dedicated work laptop. No company wants a personal computer with who knows what running on it having access to their company VPN, codebase, etc.

I mean also, having some experience means a degree of vetting that at least weeds out instantly disqualifying things like "has a Nazi tattoo." Going for lower offices first wouldn't have saved Platner, it just would have gotten him eliminated from consideration long before this point.
