Lyca approaches the manor of Victoria Housekeeping Co, finding it quite easy to enter. That's where he comes face-to-face with... Rina, Alexandrina Sebastiane. Lyca couldn't just stand there, he was already late for work and was going to be later by the minute. By the time he makes it to the lifeguard shack, the storm is growing heavier over the beach. The parking lot is empty, no one is walking along the beach, his lateness shouldn't be of concern. His sandy blonde furred hand reaches and takes the handle of the shack. Thunder rumbles in the distance as Lyca walks along the New Eridu sidewalk. Steadily, passersby began to fill the streets. He tries his best to weave through the growing crowd as his pecs bounce with each step. But then something catches his eye. A person wearing a bucket hat. Lyca rests in the shower, the warm water soaking him thoroughly as he relaxes. It eases his tension. Then he hears the annoying ringing of a bell. His phone alarm, it's 5 AM. He needs to get ready for work. He considers calling out sick, he hasn't slept last night and is coming off a heinous existential and identity crisis. However, he wants to see them, his coworkers and friends. So he begins to don his attire and, in the half-asleep daze, doesn't notice how his red clothing is missing the lifeguard signage, instead confusing why it's suddenly so tight. Why it struggled to get past his pectorals, his glutes, his endowment, all were significantly bigger than before but he was unaware. At least his prosthetic legs still fit.

I stare at the screen as the little symbol depicting pathways changes into a merging storyline. I can only sit there and wonder if I made the right decision. Sure, it was a decision to preserve Lyca, but I can’t help but think about the long term ramifications of this. How many people did this same exact thing? How will Lyca’s circumstances change outside of his own memory? Will he need my help? I can’t answer these questions right now, I have to remain on standby and watch.

Visions of his dream flit through his mind, putting away books, wiping the table, cleaning the floor. These seem like things Von Lycaon would do, but he isn't Von Lycaon. "I was NEVER Von Lycaon!" Exercising his right to write his attributes, the machine takes this as a command. "Character has erased their name. Scanning for dependencies." It scans while he and his heart continue to talk in unison. "I never was... I refuse that name!" "It is an identity I accept with great responsibility." An error is caught, "Null Pointer Error. Simulation New_Eridu needs Character(s): Von_Lycaon." He shoves himself sharply from the sink and the mirror, "Get out of my sight!" He crashes into the wall behind him, tumbling from his wheelchair. The heart lays itself bare, "However, I do tire of the role. I wish to escape." Perhaps it was the vulnerability that got him into this, "Any excuse. Any reason. Anything will do." Lyca sits there, shivering, "I am..." Who is he? "I am...." His voice grows weaker, his resolve shaking. "I am..." a whisper... then a yell as he pulls himself together, "I AM L-" He's cut off by the machine. "Please Rewind (R), Delete (D), or Merge (M) the Storyline." I couldn't lose him, so it'll be M. "Merging Storyline with Main Storyline." I wish you the best, Lyca, and I'm sorry.

He runs the faucet, he splashes his face, he lets the water drip away. His hand slowly reaches for the mirror in front of him. Touching it, he seems to imagine the other him looking back. The Von Lycaon he saw on that website. The Von Lycaon he saw was tall, constantly wearing those mechanical legs, and had this unconfrontable aura to him. He seemed distant and poised but undeniably charming. He looks at this wolf, so alone from posture alone, and wonders. “Is that what I wanted?” Something the little voice inside his heart pantomimes back. “Is this what I wanted?” The voice in his heart asks.
