My perception of Win11 is “sluggish” (possibly improved recently). For gcc specifically, discussion online points to cost of forking processes, NTFS performance issues and Windows Defender. Some suggest even using wsl. How weird if the same tool ran faster in a virtualised env 😀 Got to try that
