I'mma gonna need this break to decompress before I brave the SEED Destiny TV series.

Anyway.

I better stop here, it should be clear by now how unimpressed I am by the SEED sub-franchise. There are two things I can unequivocally praise, though;
Toshihiko Sahashi's music. He knows how to write a damn soundtrack.
Akira Ishida's voice acting in the middle 3rd. I loves me some hammed-up emotion.

I either hate every character, or don't care to remember them, because they're written to be checklistable tropes and not real characters. Kind-hearted crybaby super-ace, kind-hearted daddy's boy, spacey idealist idol, rich bitch, Fraw Bow stand-in, female captain, big brother ace pilot, etc. etc.

Some folk will argue that SEED is probably the darkest, deadliest, goringylest in the franchise for sheer number of deaths and war atrocities committed on-screen, but I just don't feel it. Every character death is played up for drama; every mook death lacks a particular BILE that Gundam's known for.

I personally absolutely hate the overall art direction. I hate how angular all the mobile suits are. Every character suffers from archetype sameface. Every location looks ass-generic. It is so infuriatingly cromulent, checklist, by-the-numbers coloring book anime. GOD.

Keep taking more pictures. This environment is the sorta good shit we think of when we think "majestic mountain settlements" European and continental American countries.

I think it was college when I last gave OG SEED a shot, but I recall not lasting past ep.10.
Some 20 years later, the first three episodes still ain't giving any confidence.
