Going to see Autechre tonight. It's an eye-wateringly expensive ticket, that I moaned about for a good two hours before adding to basket. But I think I'm worth it.

Thanks @johnhiggs.bsky.social for an elegant, logical explanation of what's going on with the AI bubble.

Happy Hack The Planet Day, to those who celebrate.
Oct 14th - #Hackers of the world united to overload the Gibson, and prevent the Da Vinci virus from capsizing an oil fleet, designed to distract from "The Plague's" worm stealing $25m.

Much anger and outrage in our household from this decision yesterday. Perhaps it's time we, as a society, begin prerecording our football matches, and live broadcasting our highbrow quiz shows.
Only Connect and University Challenge automatically having to make way for a football match reminds me that I was born into a culture with questionable morals.

One of my fave @shardcore.org projects. Back when a) everyone wasn't sick to death of generative AI and it was still funny, and b) we still had the energy to do The Great Escape.

Having read a book on the "afterlife of pop stars" recently, I now *need* to know if Shirley Collins was working at Brighton Job Centre at the same time Kevin Rowland was signing on. Reckon there's a sitcom in it.

This is exciting. A stodgy politics mag appears to have randomly declared war on Brighton.
As far as I know Rod Liddle hasn't been spoken to by plod yet, meanwhile the magazine itself has amplified his call for mass murder by throwing in a major UK city, and I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the city in question happens to be heavily associated with the LGBTQ+ community.
