Gimli is a Fighter/Barbarian multiclass, Merry & Pippin are Rogues, Sam is a Paladin, Frodo's a Warlock, Boromir? Probably Fighter too.

Gandalf is mostly Fighter, with a couple of levels dipped into Cleric, and he took the Inspiring Leader feat.
