It's ironic how many people think of Legolas as a Ranger and Aragorn as a Fighter. I think it's because of a confusion about Rangers ranging over the land, not necessarily wielding ranged weapons.

Legolas is definitely a Battle Master Fighter; Aragon, Ranger of the North, is a 5e Hunter Ranger.

This is a great way to lean into a popular fantasy trope, disclose information that the PCs couldn't otherwise have access to, and yet still immerse players in the goings-on of a wider world.

On one hand, we should mark #GaryGygaxDay, as the man was a pioneer of fantasy tabletop role-playing, and had an impactful influence on the modern ttrpg community, as well as video games as an industry, and "western" fantasy as a whole... 1/3

Everyone always dunks on Rogues for being played as the edgy-loner type (fairly so, in a game about teamwork), but the name Monk is literally based on a Greek root meaning "solitary".

Therefore, I propose the existence of a new class based on the Greek for "working together" — the Synergist...?

So wizards do abjuring, conjuring, divining, enchanting, evoking, transmuting...

What are the -ing words for the other two? Illusioning? Necromanticalising???

Someone help me with my wizard nomenclature.
