None of the wonderful solicitors, legal execs, trainees or paralegals that I call friends work in this area of law for the feedback, but it is lovely to receive.

What more could I ask for?

A woman whose rape claim was wrongly dismissed has a "clear" right to be allowed to speak out anonymously about her experience of the family justice system, a High Court judge rules -- in @thetimes today, but oddly, not online.

A very clear, comprehensive and thoughtful blog, thanks @clarkdaniel.bsky.social

I found @doccmartin.bsky.social's commentary on complaints very interesting.

Incredible sadness at the sudden and unexpected loss of the wonderful Simon (Spike) Mullings. The news has just been shared publications by the Legal Action Group on the other platform. A huge loss for his family and friends, for his colleagues, for legal aid, for housing law... for the world.

Well, it happened. Today I received my first trial listing for 2027. For a 3 day trial, with defendant on bail. What a joke.

Part 2 of the ‘English homelessness law is awful’ thread.
Assuming you have managed to be found by the council to be homeless, eligible, in priority need & not intentionally homeless (hard, see Part 1 bsky.app/profile/near... ), then the council will provide you with permanent accommodation, yes? 1/
I suppose, thinking about it, I should probably do a quick explainer for new followers as to just how mind-bogglingly awful English homelessness law is (different in Scotland and Wales), because few people outside the sector (unless they've been through it) really have a clue... 1/
Suitable accommodation under section 190 Housing Act 1996 - little caselaw, as TA for intentionally homeless is often only a a couple of weeks, but here a JR decision on unsuitability of B&B accommodation for household of 2 adults & 2 children with health issues nearlylegal.co.uk/2024/08/suit...
