Firebugs - 𝑃𝑦𝑟𝑟ℎ𝑜𝑐𝑜𝑟𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑝𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑢𝑠 - lots and lots of firebugs. Swarming on the lime trees don't the village green. I presume it's a winter survival tactic, but they seem a bit exposed to me. It's quite a sight to see.

Oh well, it was about time for a new car anyway :-( Don't fall asleep at the wheel, I was lucky it wasn't worse for me.

I claim the printing is on the wrong side of the mug. teetown.shop, the sellers, say "It seems the mug is being held in the left hand, which is why the design appears on the “wrong”, so no foul" - which is nonsensical at best, and downright lying in my book. What do you think?

Oenothera glazioviana, the Large-flowered Evening Primrose.
Well, this isn't Brazil, so it's a garden escapee but from where? There's no-one around here who would cultivate it. Still, it's enjoying the early autumn sunshine, so who cares?

Rather a large hairy thing. It seems a bit late in the season for this to be about, but then, it IS still only September. We've had a run of really nasty cold rain, which has tricked me into believing winter has arrived. Anyone know what this is and whether it's likely to survive? Dordogne, France.

Pretty, but no idea what it is. Dordogne, France, after several days of cold, cold rain, it's now sunny again.

Sky News - side-by-side reports.

Whilst evil Hamas deserve to be ousted, it's hard to see Israel as anything but the bad guys here.

Israel was supposed to be a wonder of humanity, democracy and kindness after the horror of the Holocaust. Instead, they give the world this. And we empower them.

Nothing better on a hot day than a cool down in the stream.

The putrescent magnificences that are my Dragon Arums this year. Enormous 60cm flowers, releasing a smell that made this photo difficult to take but I love 'em. No idea why they grow here in France but grow they do, vigorously and happily. Hopefully, they keep the flies out of the house as well.

Yep me too. We also had <preen> a paper tape reader as well But Hollerith cards (in EBCDIC) were our preferred input medium.
