WHO is out here shooting my place up 14 times?! Something in the distance exploded before it happened, too.
Gunshots never sound real. These ones sounded like someone banging on metal rapidly and loudly. I called 911 and refused to second-guess myself.
We are all okay, just scared and confused.

Teaching preschool is literally acclimating people to basic manners and planetary conditions. We are learning how to manage our emotions and use kind words, and we are also learning that water is wet. Watched a kid today discovering gravity in real time. Life on Planet Earth is a lot to take in.

Is a young child in your life constantly making poop, pee, and fart jokes and driving you crazy?
Ask them if they have to go potty. Tell them that kind of talk makes it sound like they need to use the bathroom, and direct them there. This works surprisingly well to reduce potty jokes.

I said 6 7 to them and they reacted like their favourite sports team just won a big game. Unfettered surprise and delight.

One of my students actually scared the bejeebus outta me by sneaking up behind me in a white blanket while making ghost noises. I am so mad because that is THE most cliché way I have ever been startled. It was funny, though.

I am confused by folks who look at preschool as this sweet and innocent time when my classroom has been ruled by memes and horror video games for the past few years. The girls idolize Wednesday Addams and the Huntrix girls from K-Pop Demon Hunters. They are going through their Hot Topic goth phases.
