Hello!
"damn, i forgot my crossbow!" *fast travel, fast travel!*

love shrews, saved one from a cat once, it ran into my hand, and fell asleep. cat wasn't happy, but it had plenty of food elsewhere.

some of the "written" passages are completely unhinged, "Its discovery highlights Australia’s unique role in reshaping the boundaries between myth and science."
is it an all-year april fool?

Nope, the article says it's an artistic rendition (that has then likely been edited by 3rd parties)
And the original research (www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...) has no such picture, it is entirely artistic, based on the research.

It is not a photograph.
An axisymmetric shock breakout indicated by prompt polarized emission from the type II supernova 2024ggi
Prompt polarized emissions reveal that the terminating explosion of a massive star is axisymmetric.

The artist rendition looked different, but with the same proportions/color palette, so I'm wondering if this is an AI filter to avoid credit.

People decided to call them "Gestapo" in several replies, and I got genuinely confused when OTHER replies were talking about... the Gestapo (the German one)

Brunch libs desperately need to face reality, and stop renaming or redefining everything.

Not trying to be weird, but *once* reading the ingredient list, and then conceptualizing it in my head "oh, it's pure butter goo with some coacoa powder in it" really did wonders, I was horrified! I'm now down to 1 jar of chocolate spread every decade or so.

imagine that fuckin board meeting

Argentina and Brazil need to let some of the other sudamérican countries get some of the dinosaurs too!
November 14, 2025 at 9:03 PM
you can't be serious using AI to promote this...
November 13, 2025 at 11:21 PM
Invicta wins, love the subtlety of the model, and the feel of weight on the coat, as it drapes the animal
November 12, 2025 at 10:53 PM
I mean, they got a whole arsenal worth of responses already, from the good old "ackchually its called epebo - - -" to "isn't the age of consent in Japan - - - " to "hell yeah, child brides :O"
November 12, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Feel like adding; this is different from Google's "Did you mean?" since the "human verbosity" of the AI truly *did* suggest there was something wrong with my memory! It's a very distinct response from a search engine
November 10, 2025 at 11:40 PM
It's one of the inherent flaws of AI, it *cannot* imagine or know - so it cannot conceptualize a novel idea (such as a scientific speculation)
Twice, Googling brand new papers, the "AI overview" has gone on to suggest that maybe I'm misremembering things, with the correct search result *right* below

ooo!
November 10, 2025 at 11:09 PM
For a simple example, the side-jokes in Tropic Thunder, the blackface element and the full R-word sequence; both are well written comentary on hollywood white-washing and hollywood ableism respectively, but are *easily* misinterpreted as "lol, they say it, they say the thing!" to the point of fame.

They're just derranged - otherwise they wouldn't do any of the insane things they do, they're completely out of their minds, and for all sorts of reasons, we all hand them authority, even now, we are beholden to their insane statements, trying to make sense of them, cus we depend on them.
November 8, 2025 at 11:05 PM
Mike's all done!
November 6, 2025 at 10:12 PM
I dunno if it's a real thing, but in my own experience, the bigger the animal - the thicker, harder, darker meat it produces; chicken (mild flavor) -> pork -> beef -> whale (thick proteiny flavor)

I'm guessing a bronto-burger woulda been on the heftyer side!
November 6, 2025 at 7:06 PM
pilfink!
November 6, 2025 at 7:02 PM
What's worse, it probably wouldn't sell if it *wasn't* exemplary preserved in some way, like the famous Spinosaurid skull, or the multitudes of pristine ?Conchoraptors?
The rarer, the better preserved, the more valuable, it's maddening to think about
November 6, 2025 at 6:50 PM
I've never seen this specimen - is that crest authentic?
Obviously, I am thrilled it is getting sold away for cash money o_-
November 6, 2025 at 3:58 PM
Now I'm imagining being an entomologist, and deliberately naming all my moths and beetles with the best dinosaur names "Tyrannovenator" "Sinotitanus" "Afroceratops", all preoccupied :V
