Just a note on geography: I'm not sure if Robert just misspoke about the location of the cattle ranching operation but Pará is not in the south or east of Brazil. On this map it is the area marked "Modern Day Feudalism" which I guess rhymes with the story in the episode this week.

That's not true. Most eligible voters in the United States DO NOT VOTE. Converting Trump voters is almost definitionally harder than coming in with a message that inspires those people.

Every democratic strategist needs to have this map tattooed on the inside of their eyelids. There are so many people in this country who have checked out of national politics. Stealing votes from an 80s movie villain is more work and will get you fewer conversions than activating those ppl.

What if I post a picture of Charlie Kirk that exaggerates how small his face is compared to the rest of his head?

You're right they call it a "vote-a-rama" instead of a "filibuster" but the point stands that any democratic senator could have stalled or prevented this budget from passing.

The former Nazis at IBM wrote this into a training manual in 1979. They had a stronger moral compass than anyone at OpenAI today.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. That's the kind of thinking that brought the world ISIS and the Taliban.

Wow so true, King

Let's start with this. The assumption you base your opposition to direct democracy on: that voters are so uninformed and susceptible to emotional manipulation that they can't make good choices is exactly the argument that was used to oppose women's suffrage in the '20s. We can do better than that.

There's a wikipedia article with multiple citations to Israeli media outlets about it.

And it cannot be overstated that the guy bringing back phrenology and talking to passersby about the Ideal Skull Shape looks like this.

I love that you can see the crease where Ted Cruz's too-big alligator-leather cowboy-cosplay boots fold because his toes don't reach the end

Is that so?

I have. I've also read about the subjugation of Chinese peasants before the Chinese Civil War. About a landlord keeping his harvest records in books bound in human skin. Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable. Consider Mark Twain on the subject:

From that article. Honestly sounds like China liberated Tibet from a theological government of Buddhist Calvinism that practiced feudal slavery. Reading that Wikipedia made me feel less conflicted actually. Thanks.
