THREAD: Following the sad news yesterday that Peter Clarke, C64 musician and remixer, has passed away, I'd like to pay tribute to someone whom I had got to know well and a great raconteur of stories of his time at Ocean and elsewhere. Lots of great music too. Here goes (1)

What a weekend for Manchester City's women's team. They tonked Manchester United 3-0 in the Manchester derby, and then both Chelsea and Arsenal had draws on Sunday, meaning a very healthy league table so far. Got to keep going, but promising at least!

Time for some Commodore 64 arcade rip-off action via @bloggospow.bsky.social as four games that are a slight resemblance to arcade machines are played. There's a bona fide C64 classic in there, and nods to soundtracks from Chris Hülsbeck and the late Ben Daglish.

I take a look at Frenesis, a very different and colourful game from Mastertronic on the Commodore 16 and Plus/4. Will the gameplay match the splashes of colour, or does it leave you feeling nauseous? Find out:

Frenesis on the Commodore 16 and Plus/4 is a game where armed with your Statron, you must destroy all the invading hordes of aliens across forty levels of frenetic action.

It will not surprise anyone that Erling Haaland has scored two more goals for Norway tonight in their World Cup qualifier (and 14 in this group stage!), as they lead Estonia 4-1. If Italy fail to beat Moldova later, then Norway are through.

One of the loveliest things about being a member of The Correspondent's Club and supporting @penfriendrocks.bsky.social is the community of listeners - especially with the monthly listening parties that really open the ears to music too. It's a real pleasure to contribute as well. Thank you Laura!

Hard to believe it's 40 years this year that this superb Cabaret Voltaire 2 x 12" EP Drinking Gasoline was released. Four superb tracks and glad I picked up the initial CD reissue when that came out (hard to find now) and I have the original vinyl too.

Picked up the reissue CD of the Buckingham-Nicks album at the weekend. My father had the original 1973 LP (which I have now) so finally hearing this remaster gives me happy memories. And Frozen Love of course was the catalyst for the two of them joining Fleetwood Mac, so important historically too

On rare occasions, some game sequels were better than the originals. Here @81632bitretro.com looks at two on the Mega Drive (or Genesis if US based.)
Ever played a sequel that left you deflated?

Well, that isn't the case with this pair for the Mega Drive!

Seriously superior sequels!
