Losing my father after moving to another country has made grieving him take longer. On most days it feels like he’s still alive and just far away, and on some days I get hit with the reality that I can’t just pick up the phone and call him. It’s his birthday today and I’ve been sad all week 🥹

Just bought a box set of this, ‘A thousand splendid suns’ and ‘And the mountains echoed’. I’ve read them all before but wanted physical copies. They all have a way of evoking all sorts of emotions 🥹
I just finished this one. I’m a little embarrassed admitting I had never read it before. So good. It’s hard to describe the feeling it evoked in me. A combination of happiness and sadness and of despair and hope for humanity. All wrapped in one. #booksky 💙📚
