"The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function." - F. Scott Fitzgerald
What you and so many others here on BlueSky don't seem to grasp is that X/Twitter is mainly a platform for governments, academics, corporations, researchers, institutions, etc to communicate. Only one small corner of X is political chatter.

Well said. If one wants to prevail the best place to start is a realistic assessment of the current situation.

You will believe what you need to believe. The most important test remains that governments, scientists, corporations, etc maintain active accounts, but very few bother posting to BlueSky. BlueSky became the echo chamber that the left wanted and needed and Elon won. And we all lost.

I joined BlueSky at the beginning thinking it was the only hope to kill Twitter and mute Elon. Sadly, that did not happen. Delude yourself if you must but it won’t change the fact that BlueSky failed to put a dent in Twitter/X.

BlueSky had a shot at making a difference, but early adopters chose to make it an echo chamber. They didn't want to hear voices from the right. BlueSky quickly plateaued and X continues to be the social media platform of choice for journalists, scientists, academics, corporations, & governments.

What's wrong with the foreign policy of the US being driven by the Commander-in-Chief's guy-crushes on his global peers?

What is the area beyond Russia's frontlines that Putin seeks to gain before agreeing to a ceasefire? Sudetenland?

No argument about the authoritarian threat, but the question that continues to be avoided is about the degree to which the academy alienated the public making this possible. What is it in American institutions that allowed them to become echo chambers unable to see the problem they were creating?

It's video from "The Women's March" on January 21, 2017, the day after Trump's first Inauguration.

It was very well covered by the media when it happened on January 21, 2017. It was called "The Women's March" and it was one of the largest public protests in the history of Los Angeles.

For me it is interesting to point out mistakes to GPT and then have it explain why it has made the mistake.

It's not that Dems shouldn't fight the GOP, but on its own it's the same strategy that failed in 2016 and 2024. Dems need to offer voters more than anti-Trump rhetoric and the same old failed polices that have driven more and more voters into the arms of the GOP.

Certainly one of the above is true.
