The right rejects the Green New Deal believing it's a thinly-disguised socialist agenda. Reading Paul Water-Smith's CA article would not convince them otherwise. Given the political shift to the right in the US, Canada, & EU, linking climate action to socialism assures no action will be taken.

Those are compelling arguments. Maybe if you looked at some other data, for instance on suicide rates among white males & females, you'd have more sympathy. Suicide rate for white males is about 25 per 100,000 and white females about 6 per 100,000. There is a crisis with males.

It's interesting that in relations to other presidents Trump was rather miserly in granting pardons. For instance, Trump granted 143 pardons versus Obama who granted 1,927. Worth nothing that so many of the pardons granted by Trump were to his close associates.
