Yuri's gender is deliberately ambiguous and unknown to us. No gendered terms used for them and the anime adapted both male player character and fenale player vharacter exclusive scenes for Yuri.

this is all a simulation, everyone is cyberized, and the entire game is the recalculation process which is why recalculated people can behave so differently. Yuriko is the system administrator which is why she's so idgaf, just another Tuesday for Yuriko. Of course this opens other cans of worms...

Gnosia really is one of those series where I feel like I am barely scratching the surface. I have no idea what Yuriko's deal is, she just says ominous cryptic lines and does not elaborate and I love that for her. The hypothesis I have heard that nakes the most sense regarding Yuriko is that (1/?)

I was thinking about this recently, actually…. Is manan supposed to be the bad end of immortality? Becoming a monster who can’t recognize the value of others’ lives? Setsu and Player only transcend the loop by connecting with others, but I feel setsu is struggling against that pull towards solipsism

Might be a Buddhist thing where Manan is trapped because she's using loops to chase her desires (immortality)? But Setsu and Yuri are able to transcend existence because they have sacrificed their escape from looping to help another, like a bodhisattva. Also yes Setsu struggling against slipping.

attraction orientation or Setsu just is ALSO asexual, or if Setsu is themself confused. Raqio and Setsu are also both pretty young so they might be unreliable narrators. Gnosia deliberately does not use the Japanese term for nonbinary (X-gender).

Part of this is translation, part is ambiguity. In Japanese the devs made up a new word (hansei) for the third gender that is sort of like all-gender or neutral gender and closely resembles agender since hansei people typically remove sex characteristics. It's unclear if hansei refers to gender AND

She's usually self conscious about being a beluga. But gnosia are all more uh unrestrained. So the most repressed characters (like Remnan and Stella) have the biggest behavior changes.
