Thank you @nytimes.com for your outstanding coverage of the LA wildfires. I’m a former New York resident now living in LA. In a crisis like this, with so much misinformation swirling around, I take comfort knowing I can rely on The Times to help me see things clearly.

The impact of climate change is being felt by more people globally each year. I hope the LA fires are a wakeup call for meaningful policy change. 🙏🏼

…People are stepping up in countless ways to help people affected by the fires. Reminds me a bit of NYC after 9/11. Sometimes it takes a crisis to unite a community and remind us that we’re all in it together. 🙏🏼

Each episode takes place in one hour of real time, giving it a sense of immediacy / urgency akin to Kiefer Sutherland's 24. Excited for the rest of the season.

PS: To boost visibility, I'm adding a pic from 1997 when I was an extra on the set of ER with George Clooney and Anthony Edwards.

“Artists are both more patient & more impatient than a non-artist in a museum setting.

I do not want to linger in front of things that don’t interest me. I just want the visual hit. When I find it, I can stare at a painting for hours, long after people with sensibility have moved on.”

Even more mind-blowing are Da Vinci’s depictions of human anatomy and his mechanical inventions - some of which, like flying machines, were centuries ahead of their time. The doc is great, inspiring, and thought-provoking.

Fascinating debate about copyright law protecting the vibe of a creator.

Copyright is supposed to strike a balance between protecting original creative work & not stifling other works.

Is a creator’s personal style more like a photo (not protectable) or a book / song / movie? I’d argue the former.

One wonders how many scientists and research scholars today are toiling away in obscurity, spending years conducting painstakingly designed and controlled experiments, in hopes of publishing results that will change the world - only to find out nobody is paying attention.
