O!!🙄🐝🐝 Am I meant to post something yellow?? Here you go. It's from the Yakutia minus 70 degrees documentary about Samuel or Samil (can't remember how to spell his name) who's lived in a forest cabin for 20 years with wolves and bears as neighbours 🐺🐻🐺🧸

Hello Janet! I didn't know you were here as well! It's me who asked can it get too cold to take pictures? Part of the reason I asked is bc I watch docus on life in Greenland and Yakutia where temperatures plummet to minus 70°C and they don't seem to have camera probs there!

Is that a European woodmouse or an American deermouse? They look almost the same🐭🐭❣️

This was my homemade pallet... looks like my attempt at mixing violet paint from dark purple, I added white but it looked like pastel milkshake! I couldn't get it right. Ended up with "blueberry yoghurt" 🤪

Yes! It was like WWII from 23:45 till 00:20 very exciting but I felt so sorry for all the little furries hiding in the dark and trembling. And kids messing about with fireworks. It's not funny it's dangerous!!

My homemade pallet: 2 layers soggy kitchen roll on a plastic tray and covered with brown greaseproof baking paper. Worked fine but you can't mix paint on it with any vigour or the paper can tear. It lasted up to 3 days and even then you had to top up the soggy kitchen roll with water every day.

Thank you. I have never tried that method. I've heard of the acrylic stay-wet pallet but never used a proper one...

I ended up with this set they're quite good but yes I want to convert to higher quality paint and mixing! I've heard Golden brand paints are really good they're American but I don't remember seeing that brand in art shops. My local Poundland was selling Daler acrylics for a while!

I started off with huge 10fl Oz 280ml bottles and homemade stay wet pallets in ice-cream tubs but unless I'm painting on canvas I found a lot got wasted and I nearly went mad one night trying to mix bright pink and purple to substitute as indigo and violet for a rainbow (artistic licence!!)
