BEAUTIFUL LITTLE DOGGIE
This is Tetley the tiny terrier and Daisy the cat... Tiny Tetley died last spring... I have never been so upset about someone else's dog 🐕

My "Tower and Tree" picture didn't come out before... a semi-abstract futuristic cityscape... available to purchase from COHART.COM

Here's Tiny Tetley my main Furry Muse along with Stanley. Tetley looks mostly like a Yorkshire terrier. He thinks he's an Australian terrier but I think he's a JRT/Yorkshire cross. Whatever he is, Tiny Tetley's an exceedingly cute little doggie!🤪 Clockwise sketch, real Tetley, JRT-Yorkie pup&old dog

O!!🙄🐝🐝 Am I meant to post something yellow?? Here you go. It's from the Yakutia minus 70 degrees documentary about Samuel or Samil (can't remember how to spell his name) who's lived in a forest cabin for 20 years with wolves and bears as neighbours 🐺🐻🐺🧸

Hello Janet! I didn't know you were here as well! It's me who asked can it get too cold to take pictures? Part of the reason I asked is bc I watch docus on life in Greenland and Yakutia where temperatures plummet to minus 70°C and they don't seem to have camera probs there!

Stanley Lakeland, a furry muse of mine from X. His A4 pawtrait has been on my wall since May. Acrylic on canvas but unvarnished. I really need to learn how to do this right, have heard too many varnish horror stories! But Stanley means a lot to me. He deserves protection from grime!

Original sales photo from the eBay lot I bid on last autumn. £55 for a dozen good dip pen bodies + 200ish nibs + innumerable extras.
I need to learn inkdrawing to illustrate my first children's book, a novel coming out hopefully this year!🤪

Hello everyone I'm back! I've been decluttering and sorting out my ever-growing art supplies... All acrylic paint in case you're wondering mostly bc of the versatility. You can paint acrylic on canvas or you can brush Indian ink on paper and dab on a hint of colour ー and acrylic's ideal for that too

This was my homemade pallet... looks like my attempt at mixing violet paint from dark purple, I added white but it looked like pastel milkshake! I couldn't get it right. Ended up with "blueberry yoghurt" 🤪

Finally aged 51 I'm reading The Lord of the Rings! I've tried repeatedly over the years but couldn't get into it, though I loved The Hobbit as a kid. I just started listening on audiobook and it's fantastic! If you imagine an actor from the classic 2001 film reading it, that's how good it is👍

My homemade pallet: 2 layers soggy kitchen roll on a plastic tray and covered with brown greaseproof baking paper. Worked fine but you can't mix paint on it with any vigour or the paper can tear. It lasted up to 3 days and even then you had to top up the soggy kitchen roll with water every day.

Thank you. I have never tried that method. I've heard of the acrylic stay-wet pallet but never used a proper one...

I ended up with this set they're quite good but yes I want to convert to higher quality paint and mixing! I've heard Golden brand paints are really good they're American but I don't remember seeing that brand in art shops. My local Poundland was selling Daler acrylics for a while!

I started off with huge 10fl Oz 280ml bottles and homemade stay wet pallets in ice-cream tubs but unless I'm painting on canvas I found a lot got wasted and I nearly went mad one night trying to mix bright pink and purple to substitute as indigo and violet for a rainbow (artistic licence!!)

Wood frogs, what a cute name. Reminded me of these mysterious marsh frogs I saw in France years ago...

People advise newbie painters to mix their own but it's actually more practical to use those sets with bazillions of little tubes ready-mixed, I dab the colours straight from the tubes onto my tiny brush, much less wasteful!!

This is the old picture that inspired it! I'd forgotten all about this; I painted it months ago.
I was testing out neon paints; the orange fur and the purple-blue eyes are fluorescent...🤪

I'm doing Tetley's bedspreads first... Took over an hour to do just thins much!
I bought ten 00000 gauge paintbrushes from eBay, the finest you can normally get and they're still hard to manoeuvre round tight corners! I should paint bigger next time!
December 31, 2023 at 10:47 PM
Thank you! I'm going to try and paint bigger next time, much less fiddly!
This is my newest Tetley Pawtrait... the random white blobs are where the pen has blotted Indian ink and I'm masking them with white paint!!
December 31, 2023 at 9:12 PM
I'm sorry I should add that Tetley's "pawtrait" needs touching up and tidying up, I'm aware of that!
December 31, 2023 at 4:55 PM
I'm trying to learn how to paint. Acrylic on canvas as well as Indian ink brush drawings and dipping pen drawings sometimes with acrylics added in "poster paint" or watered into a "watercolour" style.. !
Here's an impawtant pawtrait of Tiny Tetley, a furry muse of mine!
