i keep thinking about Ragnarok and Spider-Man 2 while playing this. bigger games then either of their predecessors but not necessarily better and weaker stories in both. i sorta feel like Sony has a sequel problem this gen?

fwiw, i also find this extremely lame! i'm having a good (not great) time with Yotei but i'm frequently annoyed by the constant pings and reminders, which feel particularly antithetical to the open world setting.

i think a lot of Sony's first party offerings have been particularly egregious about this during the PS5 generation. they want to appeal to the broadest base possible and the an easy way to do that it is to set VERY CLEARLY defined goal posts.
