Exactly. A better methodology would be to carefully and comprehensively assess students' varying prior knowledge in a relatively unfamiliar domain, and then assess their acquisition of new knowledge in that domain.

Reforming Ofsted - with Ofsted themselves in charge of the process - is a fool's errand. Ofsted should be scrapped and a completely new tabula rasa rethink undertaken of school and curriculum improvement and accountability, by a new independent and representative body.

Yes. Just bone up on the key differences especially those relevant to the specific post, eg curriculum, assessment, pastoral, behaviour, RSE, timetabling, etc, and be clear how your primary experience will be an asset.

Every school headteacher, regardless of size of school, knows that there is simply no comparison whatever between the demands made upon deputy heads and those made upon heads. It's a huge step up, and good performance as a deputy is no guarantee of making the grade in the head's office.
