Thank you for everyone who came in person and joined online for my talk yesterday at the University of Oxford on how the fall of #USAID is putting pressure for migrant remittances to fill the gap.

Watch to find out how many Elons & Bezos make up $1 trillion in remittances.

Anyway, if you want to offer support to the school of gender, sexuality and women's studies and to indigenous studies - as well as to the other programs that are being suspended - write our president & the dean of liberal arts & professional studies.

Disgruntled that admissions into gender studies & in indigenous studies (to name a few) is suspended at York. How easily we turn our backs on the first EVER program in gender studies in Canada! Also, we only abide by TRC commitments to "indigenize" our programs when it's trendy?

Demonizing foreign students sidesteps solutions to Canada’s problems
The Canadian government has said international students are abusing Canada’s asylum system. However, the data does not back the government’s claims.

Incredibly honoured to be selected as one of 19 global experts to help the UNHCR come up with recommendations to prevent loss of nationality and statelessness in the context of climate change. It's great to see that this is a priority for UNHCR as its under-researched and there are many policy gaps.

What I love about brainstorming on strategies of subversion & dissent is how cathartic it was to think of ways to overturn unequal power structures. I also love how KINDNESS, paying people fairly and always questioning the status quo - among other important strategies - were centered.
@tungohan.bsky.social ran a workshop on “care and subversion at work” at UNBC’s Inspiring Women Among Us event. What’s your strategy for subversion?
