Tbh I would go as far as to say that the international community needs to be held more responsible for allowing America to walk all over them at all times. The constant capitulation has to stop. As an American please sanction us
What this man is describing would seem to constitute crimes against humanity under international law. Other governments could and should contest the abuses he’s describing the U.S. government committing against migrants.

Imo I think it's American exceptionalism to assume America is in control of everything other countries do. We have a global shift towards right winged politics and the only country having second thoughts is America in terms of its population.

You have to actually first establish what abolishing ice would be. I'm sure you disagree with the majority of democratic party voters as most think immigration needs some level of enforcement even if it's not through its own agency.

I just saw a comment on TikTok that claimed Jewish people have never experienced systemic racism. I'm genuinely astonished that people have managed to normalize blatant historical revisionism in the name of "anti Zionism is not antisemitism".

I feel like there's a certain amount of left you can go before it starts killing your media literacy. The amount of people claiming Cyberpunk 2077 isn't anti capitalist because of nitpicks or through a complete misunderstanding of the type of narrative it is is concerning

I don't think it would be far fetched to say that the CIA doesn't kill leftist leaders anymore, they just prop up ineffectual people as "leaders" and promote infighting. You don't have to assassinate someone when people online will just say you're upholding capitalism for working with politicians

Also there's a cultural aspect that I noticed with Americans that they genuinely think only politicians have to do everything on the political side when it comes to policy, campaigning and etc and genuinely believe themselves to be personally disconnected from politics
I'm willing to take it at as a given that the less-engaged left essentially doesn't exist, and that nonvoters are mostly just incoherent

Normalizing relations with foreign adversaries should be a net good for everyone but the short sighted people in DC think they need a forever enemy and so this approach is unacceptable
It's really important for people to internalize that, in the eyes of Washington DC's foreign policy establishment, the biggest sin of the Obama presidency was concluding a deal with Iran that objectively satisfied the demands that Washington DC pretends to believe in.

We're definitely cooked when it comes to talking about media when someone makes a post about answering AoT or FMA as favorite anime not because they're bad but it's because they're safe answers and someone somehow thinks you're calling them bad anyway.

It's kind of sad that a lot of people don't actually understand what the complaint is for Maki's episode and just resort to unrelated shit to discredit the Japanese fans. They have a really good point about the tone of the episode being focused on the spectacle of wiping out the clan.

Just a daily reminder that the majority of ice agents are obese pedophiles that barely know how to use a hand gun and are currently understaffed for what they're trying to do. If they're sent to polling stations the state can just refuse to certify the results.

I think a video I watched just now sums up modern activism pretty well. A young woman sent to their state capitol for a single day to lobby against a bill that's been in the works for several weeks. They voted yes for it and then she laments that "reform doesn't work"

One thing I'm worried about with 2028 is that there is going to be a focus on being anti Israel. And it's only going to be anti Israel and not pro Palestine because at the end of the day, a good amount of people adopting anti Israel stances don't care about Palestinians and what happens to them

Even though the worst case scenario probably isn't going to happen anytime soon in this country. There's a disturbing amount of people that want it to manifest for some reason or another. It's insane that @jamellebouie.net gets attacked for not indulging in civil war fantasy.
