I think the movie still shows how frightening he can be with all the people killed at the ship, but still, appreciate your POV n.n7, I've enjoyed discussing with somebody else the book and movie. Would have loved if they added Victor building him a bride. Although movie Eliza kinda fills that role

Besides, I always felt that the monster is much nicer than we allow them to be, you don't rescue a girl from drowning, or become a "gentle spirit of the forest" like the blind man says if you are predisposed for evil.

You are right, it definetly takes liberties (Elizabeth is not the sister of Victor), but she still dies like in the book, in a way that keeps this eternal rage in Victor for the monster.
I think that the main difference in this movie is that Del Toro allows both of them to forgive and move on.

Personally, I really appreciate the number of elements he brings back from the book. Including the blind man made me so excited, and gives you quite a good point of view of the monster. Would you be kind to a world that is always predetermined to hate and hurt you?

It's a shame, the book has really cool art, and "the man named Anthony" was a compelling villain, but I ended up identifying with this quote of the book so much: "I read one of your works... I thought it was a stupidity pretending to be smart". If somebody enjoyed it, let me know n.n7

Just need to convince or get some friends to start the adventure with me (The "Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG..." memes are not strong enough haha).

It was hahah, and I was playing SCH. It looks like if you are playing a very heavy rhythm game. But now that I have a proper PC, I'll see when I return to XIV. Almost want to start all over again.

Played FFXIV years ago on PlayStation 4, sometimes I think about playing again now that I have a computer that can run the game (Using a controller for all the skills was hell xD)

I don't know why I find Steam settings so confusing. For ages, it was not showing me all available games in the store because it thought I was a minor (but I remember selecting my age so many times)
