"Most people use statistics as a drunken man uses a lamp post - for support rather than illumination." I think the echo chamber thing misses the point, it doesn't have to be political at all. Social support is largely regarded as positive but it can completely ignore illumination of any kind.

Some comments on a song from the 90s made me think of how a lack of familiarity with popular culture may render both therapeutic professionals and spiritual leaders irrelevant in the lives of real, everyday people. A. Song literally changes a persons life B. Thousands of hours, barely anything.
