Bikes, Baseball, The Outdoors. Woodworker by night. Just a dad in Minneapolis threatening to move to Grand Marais.
Also, how many inches of snow need to fall for the city to clear it? 1 inch 2“ quarter of an inch? What about when spring time comes and we have a freeze/thaw that forms ice on sidewalks? Will the city come out and deal with that?

You clearly have not walked on any the sidewalks cleared by cities like Richfield Edina, Bloomington, etc. They’re terrible often far worse than the photo you’re showing.

I’m not arguing that. I view the position of Mayor similar to CEO. It’s one that should come with a high wage. Same with the city council and other elected representatives.

I do think the mayor should be paid like the head of a company. He/she/they run a city with a billion dollar+ budget. It’s a high-stress job. For that matter I think the city council and elected positions in general need to get paid more.

It’s not poverty, but it’s far from extravagant. Student loans, food, extracurriculars, mortgage, car payments, taxes, on and on. Living on $140 as a family takes work. It shouldn’t, but it does.

I don’t post but it’s still the go-to for sports, especially live sports commentary. Otherwise I use Bluesky.

Ok. Now I need someone to find and write a blog about the geographic center vs. population center vs cultural center of Minneapolis. @blindeke.bsky.social? Could be the new “where’s uptown?”

I’m trying to visualize where on a map I’d point…I don’t think I’ve ever heard that used before. (Nice photo btw)

Wtf is “central Minneapolis”?
August 13, 2025 at 2:03 AM
Just a reminder that indoor air quality is almost always worse than the air next to an interstate. I hate freeways as much as the next person, but let’s get our facts right.

I’m more in favor of making it more difficult to get a license and increase the penalties for bad driving in a way Europe punishes bad drivers.

There are so many thousands if not millions of democrats who chose to sit out the ‘24 election because they didn’t like Biden and or Harris. Therefore they passively voted for Trump and this horrific reality. I’m just as upset at them as I am the DNC.

Personally I miss the Hardware Hank ads.

4 million in the city proper with another 8 in the metro and you can’t find 60k to fill the place? LA truly is a terrible sports town.

How are there that many empty seats? Don’t say traffic. If you cheer for a team with the talent on that Dodgers you better show up for all 9 or you don’t deserve it.

Not exactly transit friendly but the Costco Pharmacy is by far the best I’ve ever used. Haven’t had a single issue in years and their staff is incredible! Also worth noting that you do not need to be a member to use their pharmacy.

Sure seems like the system works perfectly.

I’m trying to decide if I’m willing to watch them get murdered in person in order to see a powerhouse Mets team.

Is this available on Tidal?

Hitting a baseball is the most difficult thing to do in sports now add in being an ace pitcher? Travis Hunter has no idea what he’s talking about.

$65 for a bike is essentially free. Thank God I have a tiny 1916 garage and can’t fit anything else. This is great.

I live 2 blocks from GFS and I’ll say the vast majority of the neighborhood is sick of this. It’s an embarrassing stain on liberal governance that this project still isn’t complete. At least Frey is putting his foot down and not requesting it be studied and community outreached to for eternity.
