I don't think he needs defence. A major part of his job is ensuring the integrity of the public service and he is undermining that function with these public attacks. If the govt wants him to do something that undermines his role, he should resign. He is fully complicit

Amazing article! I've read a bunch on enshittification before, but this takes it a step further.

Every app is bad. Everything takes forever to load or just doesn't load at all. There is no social media around which the point is to see my friends lives. You can't find information online anymore. The only thing that the internet is still good for is piracy.

But I do really like her vocal delivery on this, I like that the songs move forward at a steady rate. I never feel like I'm waiting for a drop or one part of the song is bursting through, every part feels important

Saying this as someone who generally likes Lorde's lyrics, you get the feeling that she really likes her own lyrics and sometimes they feel emphasised at the expense of the song.

I like that there's no 10 second snippet of a song that could work without the rest of the song. It wasn't written to be optimised for social media.

Do you intentionally write these so if people start the song when they start reading they will get to the part of the song you're quoting at the exact time it's playing? It has happened too often now to feel unintentional.
