KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. what are your rights in the state you are protesting in. The capitol/DC may have different restrictions. E.g., in NYC, the police no longer have qualified immunity. If they misuse their authority they can be personally sued. Some protests have ACLU protest monitors (blue vest).
